Spray Tan

Spray Tanning is the ONLY safe way to tan
A few suggestions of what you should know and do for when you get sprayed
- Use an exfoliating tan off mitt or a non-oily exfoliating cream or gel to remove dry and flaky skin before a tan. Don’t exfoliate again until just before the next tan.
- Don’t exercise or be too hot and sweaty before you come in as you’ll sweat off your tan. It needs at least 2 hours to penetrate your surface skin. You must follow the instructions or you’ll turn orange. Don’t shave or wax at least 12 hours before you get a tan. The product might set up a rash if the skin is broken.
- When you wash and condition your hair be sure to remove all your conditioner from down your back as it will stop your tan from working.
- Wear loose and dark clothing until your tan has a chance to work. If your clothing rubs you’ll get light patches.
- If there are any areas such as breasts, thighs and the armpits that rub against other skin then wear clothing to prevent it until your tan has had a chance to develop.
- Try not to sit for lengthy periods until your tan has developed. You’ll get sweaty and it will come off.
- Rain will wash it off. One spot of rain will create a white spot on you.
- Always pat your skin dry, don’t rub it.
- Apply your tan extenders only after the tan has fully developed-about 8 hours.
- If you cuddle your baby (or anyone else for that matter) before you’ve had a chance to rinse off the excess then they will get brown patches.
- Don’t drink coffee or stimulants that make you sweat. Give the Tan a chance to work.
The brown colour you see when you rinse off the tan is only the bronzer which allows us to see where we are going when spraying you. It has no effect on the actual colour you end up with. That depends on the length of time you leave it on and the quality of tan plus the operator’s expertise.
We use the fantastic `Naked Tan’, `Tuscan Tan’ and `Black Magic’. Try a different one each time until you find the one you love.
