Razzle Dazzle nails

May 5, 2012

Wow! Come in and see Patrice’s new ‘Edge’ nails. They are absolutely gorgeous. They took her a long time to create, but it was well worth the effort. You can have nails like these too, but as they’re designer nails then they are charged according to time taken to create them.  Patrice has been relieved from doing facials for a few weeks due to the length of her nails, but it’s nice to be able to show off what you’ve learned.  We’re now working on improving Tori’s skills so she’ll be ready for the Sydney Beauty Expo.

Tanning Bed disasters.  I must make comment on the lady who allegedly took her child into the tanning salon for a session.  Sunlight every day in small doses is very good for our health and well-being, but overdoing it is downright dangerous. Tanning actually dries out and hardens the skin…not a good look.  We prefer using the Spray Tanning systems.  We’ve got 3 to choose from..Naked Tan, Tuscan Tan and the Black Magic Tan.  They all give a fabulous natural look with no orange tones and you can achieve any colour your little heart desires.

BEAUTY TIP:  Always exfoliate the whole body thoroughly and then moisturize with a special pre-tanning cream the day before you have a spray tan.  If your skin is too dry and flakey, then your tan won’t last as long.  Follow the professional’s advice and you won’t turn orange; and keep up with the tan extenders or moisturizers for a better fade out.

Nice to be back

May 1, 2012

Thanks to Mel from PC Pitstop I’m now able to work on my blog and continue to modernize my webpage. Mel’s a great girl who’s so calm and focussed and I’m very happy to have found her. I’ve just returned from a trip up North to visit my son Adam, his wife Jess and my gorgeous granddaughter Lillian. She’s the most adorable and happy baby and of course, the most beautiful.
While I was away my senior Therapist, Patrice, travelled to the Twin Towns to compete in the Nail Competitions. It was her first time and even though she didn’t win an award, I consider she’s a winner anyway for having the determination and courage to enter the competition. This will be the first of many, I hope. She stayed on for another day to hone her skills in nail artistry so when she returms to work today I’m hoping she’ll dazzle us with new designs.
Tori, my other Therapist, held the fort while we were away. It’s great to know I have great staff who are able to manage the business and let me have a few days off now and then. Her little bub Asher is now better having had to deal with a nasty chest infection.
BEAUTY TIP: Your skin will look, feel and perform better if you exfoliate more regularly. Use an enzyme exfoliant as it’s not harsh. Lotion the skin to restore the pH and then moisturize, moisturize, moisturize. If you want better results then be prepared to pay a bit more.
